Meta Quest 3/3s Must Have Accessories For A Better Experience

The Meta Quest 3 is one of the best-selling products for 2024. The slimmed-down Meta Quest 3S is cheaper than version 3 but has better hardware than the Meta Quest 2. So it sits in the middle of the three.

Our family has the Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S. In this post, I will show you the must-have accessories for each product. Through trial and error, these aftermarket accessories bring your Virtual reality experience to a new level.

Meta Quest 3/3S headband.

The first thing you will want to replace is the stock standard headband, The rubber strap on the Meta Quest 3/3s puts too much pressure over certain parts of your head to make it comfortable. This is a must-have accessory for the Quest 3.

The OEM rubber strap has to be tightened to stop the VR headset from flying off, so I recommend these products.

KIWI designed K4 Comfort Head Strap. It works for both the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. This is the non battery model which makes it extremely light and easy to put on.

There are also options with a battery for longer play time but be aware that this will add extra weight.

The BOBOVR S3 Pro head strap with an included battery and air conditioning has a 10000mah hot-swappable battery. It is compatible with Meta Quest 3 and 3s. This is the only head strap I recommend with a battery. It distributed the weight over the whole of your head.

The included fan helps keep your face cool minimising sweat and fogging.

Meta Quest 3/3s Hand Controller straps grip

AMVR upgraded controller grips cover compatible with Meta/Oculus Quest 3 and 3S. What’s great about these is that they grip over the backs of your hand. This way you can let go of the controller and they will stay in your hand.

Tracking is not affected due to the silicon not covering important sensors.

The battery replacement flap is also handy as you don’t need to remove the whole silicone sleeve. You can find more information about them here at Amazon.

Leather or Silicone Face Shield

The type of interface material will depend on trial and error. I have the silicone face cover on my Meta Quest 2 but I have since upgraded to a leather interface from AMVR for the Quest 3. This product is an upgrade to the mesh-type material that absorbs moisture.

Now be aware that the Meta Quest 3 and the 3s have slightly different face shapes. So you will need to buy the correct model otherwise it wont fit.

I like that the AMVR face shield has so many different options to upgrade the depth of view. This is handy, especially for people using glasses. High (H), Medium (M), and Low (L) positions. In the H position, your eyes are furthest away from the lens. By adjusting it you can find the position that best suits your face shape. This distance will vary for everyone but will give you the best field of view and at the same time the best comfort. Players with glasses no longer need to worry about their glasses touching and scratching the lens.

Meta Quest 3 Carry Case

For some reason most of the aftermarket cases are tiny. It’s like they try to make them as small as possible to suit a stock standard Meta Quest 3 or 3s. Come on guys make them bigger.

I like to keep our Meta Quests stored away in their cases. This prevents dust and dirt from gathering on the lenses. It also means that you will be picking up the correct controllers that are paired to the correct Quest.

I do like this Meta Quest carry case from Sarlar. It is cheap and costs a fraction of Meta’s OEM case. With a flat top and bottom, it means you can stack a few on top of each other for space saving.

Being able to fit aftermarket head straps is a big plus. But you may need to go for the larger model if you have a strap with an included battery.
