I installed the COD BO3 game and found out that Black Ops 3 crashed straight away to the desktop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Lost all the desktop icons and was presented with a blue desktop screen, not to be confused with the blue screen of death.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"C-3\">A quick reboot and all was good but was confused why there was a low memory problem and unable to play the game as I have 8 gigs of ram.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"Normal2\"><span class=\"C-9\">Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 PC Recommended \u00a0Specs<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Operating System: Windows 7 64 Bit Windows 8 64 Bit Windows 8.1 64 Bit Windows 10 64 Bit<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Normal2 P-2\"><span class=\"C-11\">(Notice no 32 Bit systems. That is because you need heaps of memory for this game<span class=\"C-10\">)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Processor: Intel Core i3-<wbr \/>530 @ 2.93 GHz \/ AMD Phenom\u2122 II X4 810 @ 2.60 GHz<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Memory: 6 GB RAM<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Graphics: GeForce GTX 470 @ 1GB \/ Radeon HD 6970 @ 1GB<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">DirectX: Version 11<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Network: Broadband Internet connection<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal2 P-1\"><span class=\"C-10\">Sound Card: DirectX Compatible<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"Normal\">Why is Black Ops 3 Crashing?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">It blows my mind that a game can come out and within a few days patches are released and more patches and even more&#8230; But I couldn&#8217;t even get into the menu of the game Black Ops 3 let alone play it. <\/span><span class=\"C-3\">So next step was to update the graphics card driver on an AMD R9 280x. <\/span><span class=\"C-3\">Be sure to first back up your computer as you never know what may happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">What is Going On with Black Ops 3 Low Memory?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Black Ops 3 crashing still? With Low memory?\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"C-3\">This is the key to the problem. Further investigation reveals that Call of Duty Black Ops3 seems to love ram. It just eats it up.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"C-3\">So what about the page file shouldn&#8217;t that kick in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Well yes if it is set up correctly and mine wasn&#8217;t so here is the fix. It will work on an SSD and a regular HDD<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"Normal\">How to Set your Page File<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/notsealed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Pagefile.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-493 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/notsealed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Pagefile-1024x519.jpg\" alt=\"call of duty black ops 3 crash\" width=\"696\" height=\"353\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Right-click in the bottom left-hand corner of your desktop and select &#8220;System&#8221; from the menu or do a search for System in Control Panel<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Click Advanced System settings in the left-hand panel of the System window<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Select the Advanced tab in the System Properties window<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">In the Performance options, click Settings<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Select the Advanced tab in the Performance Options<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Under Virtual Memory&#8217; click Change<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Unchecked Automatically manage paging file size for all drives if it is selected.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Select Custom size&#8217; and type &#8216;4096&#8217; into Initial size (MB) and &#8216;6144&#8217; into Maximum size (MB)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Click &#8216;Set&#8217;, click &#8216;OK&#8217;, and restart.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Load up the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 game and enjoy trouble-free playing. After I gave it many more gigs to play with all was good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal\"><span class=\"C-3\">Another option was just to install say another 8 gigs of Memory into the Motherboard for a total of 16gig. This test was also done with the page file decreased to the original settings and 16GB of ram added and the game ran fine.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"Normal\">Low Memory Crash Games<\/h2>\n<p>This trick will work on all new PC games that are memory hogs. Unless it&#8217;s a bizarre graphics card issue.<\/p>\n<p>Many high-end games like <em>Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Far Cry Primal, Rise of the Tomb Raider, No Mans Sky, Battlefield 1, The Witcher 3, Photoshop, Star Wars\u00a0Jedi:\u00a0Survivor, and Fallout 4 <\/em>are all prone to crashing to desktop with low memory.<\/p>\n<p>Getting extra new DDR3 or DDR4 Memory 8gig or 16gig should fix most issues.
